The Perks of Apartment Living

Choosing to live in an apartment over a house is a big decision, and a wise one if you aren’t fully committed to owning a home. Temporary living paired with the convenience of an apartment creates a less-serious situation. Living in a house and living in an apartment may sound similar in nature, but are two completely different worlds. Here are some reasons why you should consider taking the apartment route as opposed to purchasing a house.

1) Little to No Maintenance

If something goes wrong in an apartment such as a leaky faucet, broken heater or even a lightbulb burning out – you can simply call your landlord or property manager to come and fix the issue. In addition, most people forget about the absence of lawn maintenance once they move into an apartment. Now your weekends don’t have to be spent mowing the lawn and caring for your yard; you’re free to do other things you want.

2) Low Cost

Leasing an apartment is much cheaper than buying a house. This alleviates the stress of having to pay a mortgage and other household bills which usually sets back homeowners by quite a lot. An apartment’s rent is considerably less money than a mortgage, while the bills are more cost effective. This is because an apartment is much smaller than a house, meaning the electric and heating price will drop.

3) Increased Safety

Usually most rentals have several barriers and layers of getting into the complex. There’s a main entrance, a side door, a few more layers and then more security for your building and your room. This greatly reduces the probability of a thief coming to rob your room, as it is nearly impossible to do so. Living in such close quarters means that your neighbors would most likely see if a thief is robbing you in addition to it being hard to steal big items.

4) Surplus of Amenities

Living in an apartment complex more than likely comes with a plethora of amenities that you wouldn’t normally have if you lived in a house. Some of these may include a pool, a fitness center, BBQ areas and laundry rooms. Having a gym and pool all in one area will save you a fortune on gym membership fees. Something else would be apartment parking, this saves you the hassle of having to find a spot in the street.

5) Almost No Commitment

Purchasing a house and moving in is set in stone – there is no going back. As for an apartment, you can sign up for however many month lease you please not making you tied down to anything. You’re free to move around to different areas and different apartments as you please while also being able to afford living in richer areas. Getting an apartment in a high socioeconomic area is much easier than getting a house there.
